About the Photographer Born
and raised in the Midwest, Chanute Kansas to be exact, I acquired a love of the
outdoors at an early age. Thanks to a great photography teacher in high school,
I developed a passion for photography as well. I didn't have a camera yet, but
was taken by the way an image slowly appears in the developer.
While attending college, I bought my first large format camera and practiced.
After completing a business degree, I attended Layton School of Art in Milwaukee
Wisconsin to further hone my skills and techniques as a photographer. After
completing art school and working in portraiture and commercial photography for
a number of years, I had the opportunity to start a photography division for an
advertising agency specializing in outdoor recreational equipment. After working
there for several years I decided to open my own commercial studio. I have been
doing that (and pursuing the perfect picture) ever since. I
work in traditional black and white and color negative, using archival materials.
My major influences in the world of photography
have been the works of Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Paul Strand-and my love for
the medium. |
